DEMONSTRATIONS and TOURS

Some artists have arranged special demonstrations at their studios during the Studio Tour, listed below. These are free and everyone is welcome to drop in. See Artist Studios – Images – Maps for location details. TPAC is also organizing a limited number of guided tours that you can sign up for... stay tuned for more information on that.

Demo: forging demonstrations, heating, texturing and bending steel.

Saturday at 1, 2 and 3pm
Demo: artistic gemstone faceting at 1:00 and 3:00; mokume gane patterning and repousse in pitch at 2:00.

Saturday and Sunday 12 to 2pm
Demo: wheel throwing techniques.

Artist: Judith A. Kramer

Sunday 2 to 4pm
Demo: how I work from original sketches/concepts to the actual process of painting in acrylic on canvas. Discussion during demonstration will also include the process on completed paintings on display in the studio.

Studio: Splinter Brothers & Sisters, 901 North 13th Avenue, Suite 115A
Demo: Saturday at 11am: how to make egg tempera paint like the masters; how to make egg tempera using egg yolks, wine, olifa oil and lavender oil. Sunday at 1pm: water guilding gold leaf; how to apply and burnish gold leaf on a traditional orthodox icon panel to achieve the shiny plate-like appearance of gold.

Demo: Saturday at 11am and 2pm: papermaking demonstrations. Sunday at 11am and 2pm: artist book demonstrations.

Artist: Raices Taller 222 Art Gallery & Workshop
Studio: 218 E. 6th Street
Saturday: 1 to 4pm
Demo: Discover your creative side! This free all ages hands-on fun workshop for the whole family gives you the opportunity to work with our gallery member artists who will assist you in creating a beautiful take-home piece of art using paint, collage, etc. Each piece takes 1-2 hours to complete.
